Brief
Build a design with a clearer structure for services
We sought a complete change: a more modern look and a serious overhaul and adaptation of the site for different devices and resolutions.
Problems
The site felt retro, elements were cramped, and text was small and hard to read.
Customers had difficulty finding how to contact us and learning about our activities.
Our products were not displayed attractively enough or clearly organized by category.
Colors
Sectron's site used a very minimal and aggressive palette—mainly red, gray and white. We introduced new, calmer colors that don't convey the feeling of an error or problem.
Font
Icon set
We developed a versatile icon set. We experimented with more talkative and detailed icons which we later stylized to be clear and meaningful for the products they represent.
Site map
The site structure was clear and without surprises.
Design
The design process included many variants for navigation and the hero image, which we often considered as video. The final design used video from an external company, and for navigation we tested and decided to have it expanded by sections rather than hidden behind a sandwich menu.
Details
The wide product assortment and its categorization required a three-level navigation that fully expands on large screens and becomes step-based on smaller resolutions. The approach follows the principle of focusing and controlling what the user sees.
Inner pages
For inner pages we took a more classic approach, creating a variety of widgets for freely filling content according to the current needs of the Sectron team.
